Seasoning Mix For Tomato Stew Base

The goodness of tomatoes, garlic and onions serve as a base for both Menudo and Afritada.

Menudo/Afritada (Serves 5):
Ingredients:
1 pouch (30g) Mama Sita's Meat Stew (Menudo/Afritada) Mix
1 cup (250 ml) water
2 tbsp (30 ml) cooking oil
Menudo
0.77 lb (350g) diced beef
0.33 lb (150g) diced beef liver
1/2 cup (70g) diced potatoes
1/2 cup (70g) diced carrots
2 pcs (80g) diced bell pepper
1/2 cup (35g) raisins
1/3 cup (60g) cooked garbanzos
Afritada
1.1 lb (1/2 kg) chicken cut into serving pieces
1/2 cup (70g) cubed potatoes
1/2 cup (70g) cubed carrots
2 pcs (80g) cubed bell pepper
1/2 cup (85g) green peas
Cooking Instructions:
1. In a bowl, dissolve Mama Sita's Menudo/Afritada Mix in water
2. Fry potatoes and carrots in hot oil and set aside. In the same pan, stir-fry meat until golden brown
3. Pour in dissolved Mama Sita's Menudo/Afritada Mix. Cover and simmer until meat is tender. Add hot water, as needed
4. Add fried potatoes and carrots, then the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 2 minutes. Serve hot

Store in a cool dry place.
