Chinese New Year 2011, WYH Bristol
Come and celebrate Chinese New Year with us! Gong Hei Fat Choi! May the year of the Rabbit bring you and your family happiness and prosperity! The fun starts at 11.15am on Sunday, 13th February, when there will be traditional firecrackers and lion dance performances. The event is free and everyone is welcome to come down and join in the festivities.
The firecrackers will be lit at 11.15am to scare away the evil spirits for the new year. This will be followed by the kung fu skills of our lion dance troupe, who will be bringing luck and prosperity in the form of a traditional Chinese Lion dance.
2011 is the Year of the Rabbit, which is the fourth sign in the Chinese zodiac. Creativity, compassion and sensitivity are all personality traits said to be exhibited by people born in the Year of the Rabbit. Rabbits usually keep their feelings close to their chests, and make excellent diplomats or politicians!
